The Celebrating Continues with the Tacoma Crew

Sunday we keep the party going with a little celebration with Monica, Josh, Lynn, Ella & Nayana at our house. Cooper helped blow out the candles.
Nayana's birthday is just a few weeks away!
Adeline sports a new Hello Kitty sweat suit sent from Lita. So proud!
Adeline absolutely adores her big girl cousins. She wants to eat them up!
Later she gets Tia Monica rockin' with a song on her laptop.
You'd think it was Cooper's birthday celebration as well.

It's My Party & I'll Dance if I Want To

For Adeline's 5th Birthday we went big this year and threw her a "Hootenanny" pizza party including all of her classmates. Shoehorn was the musical guest who entertains kids and their folks with a combination of tap dancing, drumming and wind instruments. Here he's teaching the kids a simple tap step.
Post-cupcake dancing is always necessary.
We filled all their little bellies with pizza and cupcakes. Each guest also got a bandana filled with small music-maker toys like shakers and whistles.
Shoehorn was a hit with the kids, mixing music talent along with dance and witty sarcasm.
Cooper even tried a little tap dancing alongside the "big kids". He didn't miss a beat!

Presents are Sew Much Fun!

You'll never believe what the big gift from Mom, Dad & Cooper was this year - Adeline's own sewing machine! She has been asking for her own for awhile. We found the perfect machine that is not only good-quality, but is Hello Kitty style!
Here's a close-up of her new machine and sewing kit box. She received some great sewing for beginners books to get her started.

Ring Around the Birthday Girl

It's always a big treat to be the birthday girl for a day at school. Today I came into the class to do a craft with the kids and got to watch as the circled 'round the birthday girl singing Happy Birthday. She sure looks proud! (Pay no attention to the child off-camera who is having a complete meltdown that it's not HER birthday celebration).
This is the finished flag we made for the rocket ship they have been building all year. Each classmate drew a self-portrait on paper using fabric crayons (Adeline's is the redhead on the bottom left corner) then we ironed-on the artwork to the flag. It turned out really awesome.

Watch Cooper as he turns this ordinary tortilla into an electric guitar (along with guitar solo).

Rockin' ABC's

Cyst be Gone

Adeline was a brave little lady today, having to under the knife to finally have a cyst removed from the back of her neck (not to mention Mom was a brave lady herself!). The surgery was quick and the staff was stellar. She woke up an hour later happy, healthy, and hungry!

First movie theater experience!

As a reward for a job well-done post-surgery, Adeline and I decided to take in a movie to round out our mellow afternoon. This was her first real movie theater experience. We practically had the theater to ourselves! Needless to say, she had a blast.

Snow Bunnies

Cooper and Claire find a nice little snow tunnel to hide in during our weekend on Mt. Hood.
Adeline was grinning from ear to ear all day going down the tubing hill. I think she ate more snow then she did lunch.
