On her actual birthday, Adeline got to participate in the Birthday Celebration at Big City School. She got her birthday badge (which I think she was the most excited about).
Then she got to show her classmates pictures of herself as a baby, at 1 year and 2 years.
Finally they sang Happy Birthday and she blew out the big candle...
... with a little help from her buddy Oscar!
Happy 3rd Birthday to big sister Adeline! We started the week with a "Royal Tea Party" on Sunday, followed by a birthday celebration at school and a special pizza & cupcake dinner tonight!
All the little guests got custom felt crowns to decorate and take home.

Tea cakes anyone? Adeline examines the snacks & crowns. Mom finished her birthday dress just in the nick of time.
"Who me? Why yes, I brush twice a day!" A dentist came to visit Adeline's class today to talk about eating right and good brushing habits. Think she'll eat her broccoli tonight? I doubt it...
Is it "nature" or "nurture" that makes little girls gravitate toward anything "princess"? We fought off the Disney characters for as long as we could, but they seem to find their way into our home. Here, Adeline and I compromised over this Ariel fabric she spotted at the fabric store. We made them into pajamas (and a pillowcase).

Adeline retired the toddler bed (aka converted crib) and gained a new twin-size bed!
We were amazed how everything fit, just barely, however. The closet door doesn't shut now but that will just force us to stay organized. Next week we'll start Cooper in the room overnight and see how it goes... Stay tuned!
Adeline recently discovered The Nutcracker ballet. She quickly dawned her finest tutu then tried to replicate the moves. She's got some good ones! Video to come...
At first we didn't know if Cooper was tired or practicing his bowing or trying out some sort of yoga table pose. He loves to "stand" on your lap, then bow his head down and rest it on your chest.
