Rediscovering the Discovery Museum

We held off on getting a membership to the Bay Area Discovery Museum due to the fact that they're a bit of a drive, up over the Golden Gate Bridge. But recently we rediscovered how much fun we have there and even the drive is an adventure. Cha-ching! Family pass, please!
Even girls like dump trucks.
Who can resist painting on windows?
Cooper was content, but slightly cold watching his sister play in the tide pool.

Getting Creative with Cardboard

When you buy diapers in bulk like we do, you end up with very large cardboard boxes that eat up your recycling bin. One rainy weekend, Adeline and I decided to use one of these massive boxes as an enormous drawing surface to make our own village.
It was complete with roads, stores, an airport, ice cream shop (mandatory), houses and little cardboard people. The day ended with drag races and a demolition derby.

Cooper's Stations

Beyond the swing and the bouncy seat, it was time to introduce Cooper to some new immobile entertainment systems. Our first purchase, shortly after Christmas, was the "Exersaucer". Ugly, yes. Big, yes. Worth every penny, absolutely! Although when facing the green dragon puppet, shown on the left side, he grabs it with both fists, screams in it's face and gets very upset. Time to move on to station #4 (see below).
Ah, the Jump&Go. This was one of Adeline's favorites as well. It's loud and plastic and ugly, but it really gets them moving. For a REALLY good time, just add a mirror and he loves to watch himself jump around.

I Need a Manwich

Cooper had his first bite of solids on his actual 6-month birthday. As you can see here, he was more than eager to try it out and literally grabbed Dad's hands as he was feeding him rice cereal. Once the food was gone, he literally cried!

Happy New Year!

We had a photographer take some professional shots of all the cousins while in Minnesota. Here is our favorite pic of Adeline & Cooper from that session. What a happy bunch.
