Another Fabulous Father's Day

How could we pass up such amazing weather! We took a nice drive down Highway 1 along the coast and found a "Pick Your Own Strawberry Patch". I think Adeline ate almost as much as we took home.
We had San Gregorio Beach virtually all to ourselves. There were lots of driftwood "forts" that we played in.

Big Green Thumb

Now that our house is off the market (hooray!), we decided to pretty the place up a bit and plant new flowers in the flower boxes. Adeline sported Mommy's gloves and dug right in.

Serious Cereal

In an effort to nurture Adeline's independence, we've been letting her eat her cereal all by herself while watching her morning shows. As seen here, she is covered from chin to toes to avoid becoming a milky mess. I have to say that she's doing quite well!

Birds to Beach

We took advantage of some amazing warm Summer weather by hitting the Zoo then crossed the street to Ocean Beach. Adeline was previously uncomfortable near the water but since she started with the swim lessons, she has overcome her fear and enjoys the beach more and more each time we go. Today she actually wanted to go IN the water!

The first few tries were hilarious. As soon as the water got close, Adeline would bring her knees up so that her feet wouldn't touch the water. She looked like a little monkey...

A Little Bribe Never Hurts

I don't know who is happier - the pregnant lady or the tired toddler. After a fun, yet long afternoon at Stow Lake, we spoiled ourselves with a tall chocolate shake at Mel's. Hey, it was the only way to tear her away from feeding the ducks Cheerios.

Yard Sale!

I think her face says it all. The yard sale was a bust and the mini muffins & milk didn't even make up for it. Oh well!

Motorcycle Lady

Our neighbor across the street, Lisa, drives a very loud motorcycle which she parks right in front of our apartment. Whenever Adeline hears the motorcycle start up in the morning or come home at night, she runs to the front window shouting "Motorcycle lady!" She then stares out the window until Lisa looks up and gives her a wave. Today she not only got to say "hello" to Lisa's face, she got to sit on the bike while admiring herself in the side mirror. Hmmmm, another biker babe in the making?

Sleepless in San Francisco

We are happy to report that Adeline has FINALLY taken to her "big girl bed", but it does take her some time to fall asleep. Without the crib limitations, she often spends a good hour trying on clothes from her dresser. During this particular naptime, Adeline pooped her diaper, so she took it upon herself to take off her pj bottoms, take off her diaper, then pick another pair of pants out of her drawer and finally put herself back to bed for a 3-hr. nap. Unbelievable! When she finally awoke, she talked us through the situation and even pointed out the dirty diaper on the floor.

This was a funny scene during another nap. We went in her room to wake her up and found her sleeping sideways with her feet dangling over the edge at the foot of the bed. I can't imagine that it was comfortable. Hey, at least she slept!

The Little Mermaid

Mother's Day!

What could be better than Mother's day? Our day started out with breakfast in bed (with Baby & Monkey too).

Then we spent the afternoon in North Beach having a little picnic in the park followed by yummy gelato!

Oscar's 2nd Birthday

Now it was time for Oscar to celebrate his 2nd birthday. It was a wonderfully warm day at Holly Park. Oscar, Mackie & Adeline are like old pals.

Part of the entertainment included a woman who told stories, performed magic, sang songs & even created balloon animals for the kids. Adeline named her dog "Pinkie".

Yay, cupcake time! Starting from the top...
